National Security and Military Affairs - SAF/GCM

Deputy General Counsel
SAF/GCM is responsible for legal matters pertaining to domestic national security law and military personnel law. These include, but are not limited to, intelligence oversight, intelligence (domestic aspects), special access program administration, information security, personnel security, cyber law (domestic aspects), and the spectrum of military personnel actions throughout AF Members' service, including recruiting, accessions, awards, promotions, discharge, retirement, force shaping, mobilization, and emergency/war time authorities. SAF/GCM responsibilities include providing advice for: the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, Manpower and Reserve Affairs (SAF/MR); the officer promotions Board Secretariat; the Air Force Central Adjudication Facility; SAF Personnel Council; the Air Force Board for the Correction of Military Records; Air Force activities in support of the Defense Sensitive Support Office; certain intelligence support activities; and, to the Secretary of the Air Force on all individual personnel actions requiring his/her personal attention.
